Story of my blogging history. Oh well. This semester has been kicking my ass. Yes, I have basically no papers to write, but I DO have problem sets due weekly in one class and biweekly in the other. Today I decided that yes, it is time to cut my hair. In preparation for phoning the new salon where I intend to go, I realized I would need to tell them my hair length (because I also want to get it highlighted, and more hair=more time, obviously). As of last night at about 6:20 PM, I turned in the final project for my final summer school class. One more semester down, two more MLIS classes finished. That leaves 9 classes and the electronic portfolio or masters' thesis to go. I now have two weeks off from school, and my fall classes start Wednesday, August 23. Just came back from the Belle and Sebastian show at the Hollywood Bowl. For the first time, B&S were backed by a full orchestra. This is also the first time the LA philharmonic has played with a pop band in 12 years. It was amazing. More later perhaps. Sleep now ( Read more... )

For the second night this week, and the 6th in the past 2 weeks, I cannot sleep. I can fall asleep with virtually no problems. I just cannot STAY asleep. At least this morning, I slept all the way until 4 AM before waking. Since I have to get up by 6:30 anyway for work, I only lost 2.5 hours today. I went to a Lush party at the Pasadena store on Friday night (to special-order the discontinued items they are bringing back for a one time only order...yay potion!) and I won the raffle for A Secret Stash gift! That's the biggest Lush gift box in existence - about $250 worth of Lush products! I felt so happy hauling it back to my car. And now ( Read more... )

Yesterday was our third wedding anniversary. I think Brian finally realized that ignoring Christmas and my birthday and Valentine's Day actually sort of DID bother me, so he went all out. Sorry for the total lack of updating/participation around here lately. Summer classes create somewhat of a time crunch. Although, I was successul in carefully selecting classes which did NOT require the dreaded group project. I have enough of a problem managing my OWN time, let alone 2 or 3 other people's.
