The man was my teacher. He wasn't a great one, but he knew the heart of fighting like no one else alive.

He was kind of a dick though, yeah.

I don't think it was hate...Nagare loved fighting. It was his favorite thing in the world to do, not because he hated his opponents, but because that's just how he lived. When he saw the ultimate opponent, he couldn't possibly back down.

If he was better at actual martial arts, he'd have probably loved to be a Gundam Fighter. Or then again, maybe that would have been too many rules.
