One of my favorite areas in Barcelona was the Gothic Quarter. The Gothic Quarter is the oldest part of the city and was built on top of the ruins of the original Roman city in the area; in a lot of places, you can see the Roman ruins peeking out around the more modern city. At this point, I am jumping around with no rhyme or reason to these posts. I find that when I take photographs, I know instinctively which ones are going to be winners and which ones I will have to consider for quite some time, tweak, agonize over, and maybe eventually post. Before the Busker Festival in Barcelona, there was another band that took advantage of the accumulating crowds. They played mostly latin/salsa kind of music and this guy in the crowd just starting busting a move in the middle of the band. They loved it and made space for him to so his thing to the music. It was pretty awesome.

On August 7th, I ran into the 7th annual busker festival in Barcelona. The top 10 bands were performing along the beach in Barceloneta. For the majority of the time I was in Spain, I was staying outside of Barcelona, near Sabadell. It’s a beautiful area. The place I was staying had a large, back balcony that overlooked a beautiful hilly region. One day when I come home, there was a gorgeous sunset so I snapped a couple of photographs.

Over the next few weeks, I will be editing and uploading the photos I took for the five weeks that I was in Spain. I took a lot of photographs - almost 2,000! - so this will be slow going. My plan had been to edit and post while I was there, but I was not happy with the color calibration on my laptop so I thought it best to wait until I got home ( Read more... )

One of the things we did while we were there was take a sunset fiesta cruise on the Cabo Escape. If you ever go to Cabo San Lucas, do not - I repeat DO. NOT. - take this cruise. It is a booze cruise with bad food and worse alcohol. Sure it’s all you can eat and all you can drink - but how much rail liquor and bad fajitas can one person eat?
