[An expanse of the otherwise bleak Plane beach has been transformed--somewhat! Where there were once dried out palm tree stumps, there are still palm tree stumps, but right next to them are actual palm trees, albeit ones with violet leaves and white tear-shaped coconuts. Lit tiki torches bookend a table with various foods from the Plane kitchen

[Oliver most definitely could not ignore those signs! he waves to Donna as he comes hurrying over] You should've told me you were setting this up! I would've brought things!

[she smiles and waves back at him, a drink now in her hand] Well, Ollie boy, there's still time! Got anything you'd like to bring? Maybe some Gondovanian starter or something?

[grins at that question] Well, I would do, but I'm not on Gondovan anymore.

[misses exactly what he means] Yeah, I know, I can see you aren't. You're on the Plane right now.

[ Because even the President can let her hair down --oh, wait, she always wears her hair down-- once in a while to enjoy herself. Which is why she can be seen attending. Well, that and who was she to pass up the chance to share some stories? ]

Romana! [she grins, pours another glass of the punch, and walks right over to her] Long time, no see! How have you been? [holds a glass out to her]

[Accepting the glass with a small smile] Well enough, I suppose. I haven't been visiting the Plane much as of late though.

[forever_noble]

[her smile faltered a bit, her voice softening] Probably for the best. It's all gone a bit bonkers lately, hasn't it? Not now, at least, but be careful if you go to the library. I don't know if those things have gone anywhere, but I don't care. I'm done with libraries.

[and with that, she takes a gulp of her drink. it's enough to renew her earlier tone of voice]

Sorry, I should ask how things are back home! Been busy with that lot?

[Donna, on the other hand, thinks she's another one of the Doctor's companions, though she isn't sure if this one's ready for a fancy dress party or not]

You know, party on the beach, very handsome Hawaiian men doing dangerous stunts with fire? [a pause] Okay, imagine the hot men doing stunts. Couldn't exactly bring them here, you know.

I'm Donna, by the way. [holds one hand out]

[luckily, Donna is more than happy to help her out and gives her hand a good couple of shakes before letting it go] It's a kind of greeting actually, but I guess you could say it's a ritual. What do you do when you meet someone new?

[Although Leela liked the idea of meeting other companions and swapping stories with them, she was a little more confused by the concept of a luau.]

What is a luau?

Leela! [heads over to her with a bright grin, a glass of Donna's wonderful punch in one hand] It's a party! Can't you tell? They have them in Hawaii. Everybody wears flowers, and you dance like this.

[yes, he is doing stereotypical hula moves. blame the punch]

That is dancing? [Leela is trying - and failing, understandably - not to laugh.]

Yeah! It's a very ancient dance. Well, the proper one is, anyway.

But how are you? It's good to hear you speaking English again! Or, well, whatever it is you're speaking. I hear English again.

[Even if Jamie doesn't know what a luau is, there's food, so he's pretty much going to show up sooner or later and make a bee-line for the table. He's looking at it like he hasn't seen proper food recently, too.]

Now that's more like it. I'd not have cared to find out if those bugs were edible or not.

Did you say something about bugs? I was pretty certain there weren't any around here when I set things up! Please tell me you haven't seen any.

Hey? Och, no, not here. Back on the planet where the Doctor and I are.

[He makes a rather rueful face.] I've still not figured out how to get in that tower, and I can't get back into the TARDIS at the moment either.

Oh good, don't think I could stand having them about. [shudders, but more from the thought of having small beings skulking about in the shadows...]

[looks concerned] Why can't you get back into the TARDIS? Don't you have a key?
