Fraying at the edges
The good news is that Ellie is recovering nicely from her op - in fact she's raring to go. She has to wait another couple of weeks to get the all-clear, then we'll have to build up her muscles gradually, but well before Christmas she'll be running on the beach and diving into the water ( Read more... ) -
Tale of Two Legs
Ellie had her second operation yesterday, and came home today. She seems much more disoriented this time, and has been crying almost non-stop. They had to sedate her more heavily, and she is very confused. Still managed to eat her dinner, though ( Read more... ) -

I watched the new BBC Sherlock Holmes last night. Very interesting. The transition to the 21st century was well handled, I thought, retaining much of the character of Holmes and Watson and expanding on it ( Read more... ) -
Doughnuts and Dogs
Ellie is doing remarkably well. The first few days were horrendous. She had to stay in her cage much of the time, and wear a huge trumpet. Mirren the cat was terrified of it, Ellie hated it and loudly voiced her displeasure ( Read more... ) -
Dogs
I'm feeling a bit down at the moment. Our chocolate labrador, Ellie, has just had her first operation for ligament damage in both knees .It's not nice listening to a dog crying. She's not actually in much pain, but is on total cage rest, and is *very* bored ( Read more... )
