I've found that everyone has their own way of dealing with hiccups. Some people hold their breath, some people drink water. I knew a girl who thought you could get rid of hiccups by being asked a serious of questions very rapidly, such as, "What did you have for breakfast?" and "What did you put in your omelette?"
