Today is My sister and SILs last day here.  SIL had to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and today.  Today I have off so while SIL is working Dad and I are taking my sister to Ipswich where we will buy pumpkins, Eat at my favorite place for clams, visit a store that sells Amish pickles with zero sodium, and maybe squeeze in an ice cream. Friday I woke up with a bleed in my eye.  I don't recall anything traumatic happening and my BP was a tad high, as usually, but not anything out of my norm.  I was hugely stressed, but they say you really can't pop a vessel from just stress.  I have done this before back in the 90s.  Sadly it will take a few weeks for the red to leave so I look ( Read more... )

Tuesday I was very angry going into work. I sat with the boss to go over some reports.  I knew she was all fired up to get this stiff done as she is on vacation next week.  I let her type and we talked about the report.

My phone has been going off since 7:40 this morning.  Cousins wanting to know what Dad can eat...where they should get food... what should he order.  Then how is my ceramic friend's mother...she is in the hospital with dementia  from low potassium... Dad passed the vision test for his license.  Yay.  He also got the 'real id's he can fly next year.   I will still need to schedule the cataracts stuff... hopefully before he becomes battery operated.

The boss gave me a laptop and wants me to get used to working some time at home.  Not sure if it is because of my Dad, or if she feels I can ( Read more... )

Dad is doing fine.  The change in medicine is holding things together.  Not sure for how long.

I am not doing fine. I am overwhelmed ..and when overwhelmed I freeze and accomplish NOTHING.

Dad is home.

They changed his meds, changed the fluid pills down from 200mg a day to only 40mg.  I am skeptical.  He has been on a new med and hopefully the pill form will keep working.  He's been on it 3 days

He is still on the evaluation process for the heart pump as his heart will keep getting worse.  I just hope we can hold on until late ( Read more... )

Dad is still in the hospital. Maybe home this weekend.

The med that worked super on him and had all functions 100% normal (BP & Kidneys) is an intravenous med ...and can never be stopped.  He would be house bound and hooked up. Most people last a year on it.  Sigh.

It took 2 hours to get to work today.  I left the house at 4:30...the only things on the street were rabbits, rats, and 3 young coyotes.  Joy.  She shuttle bus came at 5:03 to take us to Ashmont then I was on the first train out.

Dad is in intensive care.  The Cardiac Cath results are in agreement with what Dad's Cardiologist said over the phone.  End Stage.   They can try to support him with meds.  They are also seeing if he is a candidate for a pump that they give heart transplant patients before they receive a new heart.  It is complicated and life is complicated with it ( Read more... )
