"As an exciting year of unpredictable change begins, we, too, have our work cut out for us. And we’re all in this together. . . Kind of like Alaska’s Musk… Musk ox. You know how they all… they circle up, when they’re challenged. When their young are challenged. When they’re challenged, their future. They circle up, and that’s what we gotta do."

I also think the Franken/Coleman race should have been rerun because Al Franken is just going to be another Senator without credibility if he goes under these circumstances. I think he would lose, although Minnesota did elect Jesse Ventura governor, so who knows. If Obama didn't have strong enough coat tails to give him a solid victory though, I can't see him getting it in a run off.
As for Blago, where is his bowler hat and bottle green suit I wonder. He is almost more of a caricature than Fudge but, oh man, his press conferences are so unbelievable.

Honestly, with Blago, I couldn't believe he was having another press conference, and that it was more bizarre than the week before when he was spouting poetry from Tennyson! He thinks he is fighting the Charge of the Light Brigade one week, and the Alamo the next. *LOL*
I think the Franken/Coleman thing is almost over, since Coleman just took a day job as counsel to the Republican Jewish League. Franken did not run a strong campaign until the very end, unfortunately, and that's why this is still going on. But you are right that a run-off election would have made so much more sense.
As for poor Caroline, I think it's terrible that she was dragged through the muck over this after she did so much to help Obama get elected. I keep thinking, Dang, if they don't want her in New York send her down to my red state! Paterson stretched his search out longer than Blago did in Illinois, which is absurd, and Rachel is right that there is no rhyme or reason as to why Governors should get to pick a Senator. Oy vey - it drives me crazy, too.

I made a popcorn icon just in case Blago has another press conference after he is impeached. OMG - I almost forgot, too - he is going to be on The View today, along with his wife!
I may need to go buy some real popcorn. *LOL*

There are alot of embed codes that don't work here on LJ for some reason! I wish I knew the trick.
But I enjoyed watching that video ~ Ha! :) He really caught O'Reilly and the Big Fat Idiot Limbaugh in a contradiction.

Blag's problem is that this isn't a criminal trial. It is an impeachment. He is correct, however, that the evidence isn't what controls, it is politics. He is also correct that the impeachment process does allow the legislative body to undo an election. What he doesn't understand is that the law allows this to occur.
He should have listened to his Criminal defense lawyer, however, and remained silent until full discovery is obtained from the government and then let his lawyer do the talking to the press. Everything he says in these interviews can be used against him in a later criminal trial. I would have resigned also if I had been his criminal defense attorney. I hate lawyers for clients. They never listen to their lawyer's legal advice.

Oh yeah - he has talked wayyyy too much, and can't seem to stop himself. Here he is on The View, and you are right that he makes his case that the process isn't totally fair to him, but he also won't admit any wrongdoing of any kind, so he sounds delusional. He's far too intense and desperate at this point, and I hope his wife takes the kids and goes home to her parents until this is over because I'm starting to get worried about what Blag will do if he is tossed out of the Gov's mansion.

Really, Rush? Gee, here's me thinking it was "compassionate conservatism" that got us to the precipice.
