Achilles heels were behaving today (after drinking plenty of water and taking a couple ibuprofen), and the treadmill didn't sound utterly horrible. I think I figured out that that moment when you're airborne while running, the belt gives a little snap as it rebounds from your weight being gone. you don't seem to find it too exciting, but "Clear the Area" is actually one of my favourite songs from my favourite recording artist! it's special to me, because i imagine it's being sung by a guardian angel to the human she's been charged to look after. i find it brings me hope when i have very little.

i highly recommend downloading "Clear the Area" from the Live Session, exclusive to iTunes. it's a slower version, but 10 times more beautiful than the Speak for Yourself version... something you can sleep comfortably listening to.

Oh, I do like the song. It's just not something to run to, not something to keep my blood moving and my mind wandering. I might have to check out that version you're talking about though, for a song to listen to while working or writing or something.

It's a shame that exercise doesn't make you feel as good about life, the universe, etc. when you're doing it as it does after it's over. Maybe then I wouldn't have such a hard time dragging my excessive butt back to the gym.
