Achilles heels were behaving today (after drinking plenty of water and taking a couple ibuprofen), and the treadmill didn't sound utterly horrible. I think I figured out that that moment when you're airborne while running, the belt gives a little snap as it rebounds from your weight being gone. After the belt warms up a tad from being used, it doesn't make the noise anymore. Maybe it's nothing to worry about, but I'll keep an ear on it.
30 minutes, 2.65 miles, 5.3mph. I was more or less hating life by minute 20, but the room was pretty warm from the heater running all day.
Imogen Heap - Clear The Area - I can't say very much about this song. A good song, but nothing too exciting. Not bad to warm up with.
Linkin Park - Wth>You - Another abortion of a song title, but the whole Reanimation album is like that. The song itself a delight to run with - angry and with a robust cast of guest star rappers.
Funker Vogt - Thoughts of a Soldier - A good steady-state running song - driving rhythms and a imposing male lead vocal.
Lacuna Coil - Heaven's a Lie - You can't go wrong with Italian heavy metal while running, I always say!
t.A.T.U. - All About Us - A bit downbeat for a song to appear two-thirds of the way through the run, but not too bad.
Assemblage 23 - Purgatory - A23 wins again for a motivating running song. I might be able to recommend anything from this guy.
VNV Nation - Perpetual - Only caught the first few minutes of this. If the warmth of the room and the increased speed of the run didn't wear me out, I might have kept going.
Reckon I'll keep it at 5.3 for the next week, and bump it to 5.5 after that. Barring a disaster or an injury, I'll be at 6.0 mph and a 10 minute mile by Valentine's Day. Happy fitness to all of yoU!
