I knew I'd do something like this.

So you know what I forgot to put on my stupid Galvatron costume?

A DECEPTICON SYMBOL, THAT'S WHAT.

*screams into pillow*

I'll just have to draw it on with a paint pen when I get there, I guess. ...dammit, now I need a paint pen. *adds it to List*

cosplay, ranting

Can that be picked up at a Michael's or Jo-anne Fabrics store?

Yeah, it can. And there's a Michael's nearby, so. I'm just sulking that I missed that detail.

*grins* I was going to offer to get you one if you'd already packed your costume.

Already packed and sent to Poptart so she can drive it down, yeah. XD No way in heck I was dragging that thing on the plane.

Seems how the costume is here, I could paint it on for you.

Only if it won't send Michelle into another spaz fit.

(Also, I dreamed I went to your house on a yellow motorcycle. I don't know either.)

I feel like these are details which denote "nerd" in fine print. :P

Ultranerdy would be having G1 Galvatron toy stickers blown up to Moogle-size, cut out of shiny sticky paper, and then stuck on the appropriate places. :)

.....can you do that?

the_s_guy June 20 2010, 10:58:52 UTC
I don't see why not. There's all kinds of sticker material out there, including silver, and many places will do custom stickers.

If you're going for a toyetic look, however, watch out for people "checking for sound and light action". ;) Although having a Rodimus cosplayer make the costume light up could be pretty hilarious.

(Dang. Now I'm thinking about how to rig a stage-magic effect so you could give the appearance of taking a giant 9V battery out of your torso. :P )

Hmm, and non-partsforming transformation should be workable too...

I shall tell you a story that may make you feel better! At the recent paint-yourself-interesting-colours event, my character concept was basically Fireflight, and I was tailing along with chaosdeathfish, who was the older character with an actual goal in mind. A good portion of his character concept has been built around a big piece of obsidian that he carries around and refers to as our brother. In fact, a lot of the other stuff he's doing grew out of that image.

Guess what prop he forgot to bring? :D

In reference to the toy stickers idea above - I should think it would be possible to vector trace all the stickers, blow them up, and print them out. I don't know about printing on sticker paper, but you could certainly do it on shiny paper and use glue...

*giggles and does feel better!*

I could do the vector tracing, but I shudder to think what Kinko's might charge for something that big. XD
