It could have been pretty tense a couple of times during tonight's storms, but all the danger spots either fizzled out before getting to us, or took a slight turn north/south and missed us entirely. Lots of rain (some horizontal which was interesting) and that's about it ( Read more... ) -
State of the family
Younger Son has been working his way through the Harry Potter books since 4th grade. It's taken him about two years, but he's managed to (as of Saturday), read all seven of the books. He was determined to finish DH before HP7.2 comes out in July. He's proud that, for the first time ever, he'll be able to watch one of the HP movies and know what ( Read more... ) -

Well...ain't that a kick in the pants (yet another kittie!update)
With the help of a coworker who used to work for a vet, I now know the gender mix on the kittens. LOL And I'm nearly speechless with shock! The mix itself is even - two of each. Amazingly enough, Tortie is a rare little gem. According to this page, about one in 3000 torties are male. Well, my Tortie is one of those. It's likely he'll be sterile ( ( Read more... ) -
Kitty!Update
Got photos (and shared) last Saturday. Well, Shorty apparently didn't appreciate it one little bit and moved her precious babies during the night. If I had thought for one moment that the closet was an inconvenient location for a kitty!nest, trust Shorty to disabuse me of that notion. Kitties! (an update)
Shorty is relaxing her guard over her precious babies. At ten days old, they're starting to open their eyes. After a very quick examination of all four kittens yesterday, it would appear that Shorty has given birth to four little girl!kittens.
