Pics of the Kitties?
Err...I planned to show new pics of the kittens tonight. A friend told me today that since the kittens are now a week old, they could safely be handled so long as Momma!Kitty didn't mind.
I had it all planned. I was going to take the kitties out of the nest one at a time, give them a quick check-over to see if I could find out the gender mix. Get a quick photo of each. Share with friends on LJ.
Didn't work out so well. I managed to get the tri-color kitten out of the nest, exclaim over it's itty-bitty-ness, hand it off to Older Son and snap one blurry, poorly-lit photo with my cell phone before Momma!Kitty showed up. She grabbed her precious baby by the scruff of the neck and drug her back to the nest. Since she's hissing at anyone who even looks at her babies now, I'm going to assume she's adopted a general Fuck. Off. attitude.
So. Yeah. Photos at a later date.
We've decided to keep the tri-color kitten. Younger Son and I feel she should be named Tortie Daughter of Shorty (or just Tortie for the every-day) but Older Son says we are not using enough imagination. Of course, he hasn't offered any alternatives, so for now she's Tortie.
