Chapter Seven
Stargazing
”These blessed candles of the night.” - William Shakespeare, Merchant of Venice. Act V. Sc. I
Pirath couldn’t sleep. He had nightmare after nightmare after nightmare. Maybe it was because we were in a new country? He thought as the wind blew through his hair. Whatever wind touched his face felt cool yet not comforting. Maybe for Pichaya, it’s exciting and new, but for me it’s just so scary.
He then glanced at the stars. He knew some constellations but he didn’t care to look for them then. There were some lights which blurred the stars, but it still shined through.
Pirath sighed, remembering how clear the stars were where they grew up back in Thailand.
Am I looking at the same stars?
Then he glanced and looked through the glass. He knew his brother was sound asleep, but then he’d be sound asleep remotely anywhere. He supposed that he’s making a mountain of a mole hill - if his brother seemed comfortable with the sudden change, he should follow suite. There was still something at the pit of his stomach, though, that told him to at least be watchful.
He yawned as he made his way inside the room as quietly as he could, deciding to snuggle with his brother.
That always made him feel better.
