Chapter Six
Beaches
“Praise the sea; on shore remain.” - John Flario
“Wow, the beaches are so clean!” exclaimed Pichaya. The man next to him smiled with pride. Pirath sighed as he placed the bag filled with mostly his brother’s stuff. The other singers brought their own bags and placed them with his. Pichaya dove for his big bag and started to go through it. Pirath got out his own towel, shook the sand off, and laid it down. Once he straightened it out, he sat on it.
He saw his brother hand Yamashita the deflated ball. He placed his lips and blew hard. His attention shifted when he realized he was hot.
It’s probably this heat, he thought as he reached below and pulled his shirt off of himself. Because his brother is possibly the definition of goofy, he brought for them a set of matching trunks. He bunched up his shirt and placed under his head as he laid back. He reached for his suntan lotion bottle and sunglasses. He squirted some of the lotion on his person and then rubbed it all over himself. Once he was done, hearing some other people (with kids obviously), he put on his sunglasses. He got comfortable and exhaled as he felt relaxed. He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
However, it didn’t last too long when he felt a series of something falling on him. He groaned as he opened his eyes and removed his sunglasses to see a drenched Pichaya, with his signature grin.
Something tells me this isn’t going to end well, he thought. His brother reached down and grabbed his arm. He pulled him up and then dragged him towards the water.
“Golf!” he yelled. “What are you doing? Where are you taking me?”
He laughed. “You were just laying there! Come on and join the fun!”
“But I’m fine resting!”
It was too late; he felt the cool water below his hot feet. In fact, Pichaya actually picked him up and threw him in the freezing water. When he rose from the water, he shivered. People who witnessed his misfortune laughed good naturedly at him. He saw Pichaya laughing maybe a bit too hard. This angered Pirath to where he sunk himself with half his head under water and blew bubbles as he planned his own attack.
Unfortunately, that chance never came. Instead, Pirath played some volleyball with the others as Pichaya and Masuda tortured the masses with their “RAMEN NO OTOKO BIIMU” which was just them throwing the beach ball Yamashita blew up earlier. The group then decided to have a fire at the beach when it got dark - and even invited some people from the beach as well. They had roasted wieners and marshmallows; they sang songs; and even told ghost stories. Soon it got late, but even though it was late, there were some guys still ran around and played tag or some other childish game. When Masuda realized that he couldn’t find his newfound partner in crime, the others started to look for Pirath as well. Once they found them, they saw them sleeping on the younger one’s towel and clinging to each other. They left them alone until it was time to leave.
