Evidently, Himself used a quarry technique of guided fracturing.

Woo for a new Penzey's outlet! I'm glad you'll have the ability to make raids on one. I kept going to the one in CT, as the one in Grand Central wasn't big enough to stock the really crazy stuff or the big sizes I always wanted. And I found the one that's just outside DC for after we move. Am excited. :)

What is a "graham cracker"? Is there a non-US equivalent?

They're like digestives but a little bit lighter. I think a pack of digestives made into crumbs would work brilliantly.

As a further alternative, here's a recipe. Not that I'm suggesting you bake crackers for the sole purpose of making them into crumbs, but the ingredient list and/or a single baking might spark a replacement idea.

My mum has been making these for ages, and the chocolate doesn't seem to crack on hers. I'll ask if she has some secret...
