I'll probably get called "Just a hater" for this, but... even assuming I trust them not to utterly fuck this up and give us Overture 2, where the characters are further reduced to poor caricatures of their former selves... even assuming they do go back to something we can identify as Sol and Ky and Jam and I-no... they have been stalling on any sort of development for over ten years now.

We have seen the same conflict rehashed a million times. Ky and Sol. Millia and Venom and Zato. Testament and Johnny and Dizzy and I-no. They would have to seriously advance things forward to make it anything else than a rehash, and I don't think they have the slightest clue how to do that. Otherwise they would have done so already.

No worries, mustn't let the island get overpopulated after all. XD
Seriously though, after the way they've mismanaged their own characters and story I can't believe for a moment that they know what they're doing any more, or really knew what they had at the start. Maybe in another ten years they'll have it figured out? Can't say I'd be looking forward to it (and anything else they put out in the meantime).

They tried to advance things and gave us Overture. Aside from sweeping it under the rug and denying its existence I'm not sure how they can recover. Anything "new" will probably fall into weird spin-offs (like that Chimaki towel whipping game) or more dramu about resurrecting Freddie's dead girlfriend clone and That Man's increasing envy over never having had a threesome with them. Oh and as a bonus Ky gets a new dress. It'll be an exclusive download.

Yes. Even if I assume Overture was just someone trying to sell a Samurai Warriors knock-off by sticking Ky and Sol in it, there's still the rather glaring fact that we saw the last actual game with a story arc somewhere in the early 2000s. AC doesn't count, because AC was the panic reaction they had upon people hating Overture, and it was mainly created to "explain" this game ( ... )

And I know that there isn't much left of the series, but Guilty Gear and Ishiwatari was a huge influence on me growing up and...well, I guess I'm just attached.

Anyway! Yes, I'm still teaching Korean babies! Whoo hoo! What 'bout ya??? We haven't talked it such a while!

lol, no worries. I'm still fond of the series, I just don't like what's been going on and where its headed.

I'm degree collecting atm so been pretty busy (midterms are this week actually). Yeah, we're overdue for a catch-up. X3
