Yes. Even if I assume Overture was just someone trying to sell a Samurai Warriors knock-off by sticking Ky and Sol in it, there's still the rather glaring fact that we saw the last actual game with a story arc somewhere in the early 2000s. AC doesn't count, because AC was the panic reaction they had upon people hating Overture, and it was mainly created to "explain" this game.

You know, I am surprised they have not given us a dress line-up for Ky yet. I mean, that "Sol takes off his jacket" DLC was sheer gold in its desperation. "LOOK. LOOK. SOME MUSCLES. YOU'LL LIKE IT BETTER NOW, RIGHT? RIGHT?" Riffing aside, the crazy thing is, I'm still convinced Sin's existence is because they could not figure out how to turn Ky Gear, so they went with the closest thing.

I mean, the thing is, I'd love to be able to trust them. I'd love to be able to say, "I know Arcsys will make an enjoyable game." (It's funny how people always think I'm looking for something to complain about.) It doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't even have to be particularly well-written, but I'd like for it to be enjoyable. (Side note: Watching twenty hours of a man wailing and whimpering over his crystallized beloved is not enjoyable I now have FFXIII to back me up on this point, and yet... and yet.) Thing is, I'm just not sure. It's rather like recovering from being fish-slapped - you don't know if the person who slapped you with that trout won't bring out the pike next.
