I'm glad I'm not the only person that is totally intolerent of stupidity. About those postcards.... does Mississippi count as a wild & exotic locale to recieve a postcard from? I want to participate too!!
And that girl - after thinking about it, I really should've asked if they can put me on a wait list in case there is a cancellation or something, but geez - I just got my hair done last week and she's already booked up for the week before I made my next appointment? ugh. My stylist is good...I guess everyone's making a mad dash for one last cut and color before she potentially never comes back. lol
Having been a seriously awesome receptionist in a surgeons office, I have no patience for incompetence like that. (I was so good I knew who every patient was, what they were being seen for, and which doctor they saw. I also usually knew which doctor they were referred from.) It's not at all hard to answer a phone and schedule appointments.
I'm lucky that my hair stylist is her own receptionist and always has appointments when I need them. And she was totally cool when I cancelled my wedding hair appointments with only an hour's notice.
I get flustered easily in situations like that, so I really probably could have asked some better questions to get a more favorable response, but she irritated me and I let that get the best of me. CURSES!
At least my hair is cute for now...perhaps I should print out a photowig and wear it to my shower next month. LOL
It's not your job to know what to do to make her do her job properly. It's her job not to be retarded and help clients with their needs. But like I said, I have higher standards for receptionists.
It drives Forrest crazy when I get frustrated with people for being so stupid. I have no patience for slow cashiers. I've had two retail jobs and was a very friendly and courteous cashier while still doing my job as quickly as possible.
I just really cannot handle people not being as good as I was in those jobs. I guess the root of the problem is that I should never have had those jobs in the first place, I'm too smart and too capable.
Oh, and I could not handle having short hair again. It just does not work for me. My hair is naturally curly but I can't get it to curl nicely on it's own, it just gets puffy. So when it's short it gets extra puffy if I don't style the crap out of it. With long hair like I have now I can just throw it in a pony tail or bun and call it good.
Yeah, Ben says I have a really low tolerance for stupid people and I don't mind letting that show. LOL
And I would much prefer to have ponytailable hair, but it's sooooooo thin anymore that it just looks like crap if I grow it that long. Which makes me sad. :-(
