Hey guys! *waves* I was poking around Sci-Fi Wire today, and I came across this interview with Cliff Curtis, the actor playing Fire Lord Ozai. Here it is: http://scifiwire.com/2009/08/last-airbender-villain-lo.php

It does provide us a little information about Fire Lord Ozai's costume. Curtis described it and said:

Do you have links to pics of the Kyoshi Warriors outfits? Yea, that costume description sounds frightening but I find that when people describe clothing they usually make it sound uglier than it really is.

No... Sorry. As far as I know, they haven't released any of those images yet. D: We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that they won't completely ruin their outfits as well...but if the the other costumes are any indication, they'll probably end up as Greco-Roman Samurai too. Only in green. *headdesk*

It's sort of like a cross between Roman and kind of Greek, [a] gold, Roman and Greek military/samurai military [uniform].

Gotta love those Greco-Roman samurai.

Ugh.

This is actually kind of funny, in a weird way. I once told my dad that the history and relationship between China and Japan reminded me a lot of the history and relationship between Greece and Rome, but I didn't mean it in THAT way. I meant it in the sense that the latter of each example was an imperial power who borrowed and incorporated (or, according to my dad, in the case of Rome, STOLE *cough*) many elements of the former's culture (such as art, mythology, language, etc.) into its own and improved on them. By no means did I even suggest that the samurai were Greek or Roman.

Mr. Shyamalan, just because the two pairs of civilizations were similar does not mean they were identical. Sheesh.

They've changed SO much, removing all the "asianness", but why keep the "asian" names?! A little awkward.

Yeah, they could've easily made up a movie on their own.

Would have been so much better than bastardizing Avatar; pardon.

What if MNight got together with Mike & Bryan to create something new?... uhg... okay, never mind. I'd like to think that was wishful thinking, but it's not.

Well, that fits with the Star Wars-themed costume of Noah Rigner in the teaser trailer... *head-desk*
