The subtitles are occasionally hilarious. "A hot and Arab land" for "a hot and arid land" is my favorite, with "Selacamp" for coelacanth a close second.

I just love that this show is still ON. Best show ever. <3333333 It's such a great children's show.

Also: girls totally lack iconic role models. Boys have Superman and Batman and G.I. Joe, but girls lack definitive badass role models.

I think girls look up to BRATZ, with their lipstick and glitter. That's pretty aspirational. Oh, yeah, and BOYS!!!

And that imposter doesn't count as Katara.)

The show premiered in 1996. Ah, the 90s.

Just like any other long-running series, the characters haven't aged a day despite having several summer breaks and winters. For some reason, too, the show takes place two years into the future. It's 2012 in their world for some reason.
