These two episodes from the current fourteenth season of the PBS show Arthur really stand out. I felt that some people here in this community will find them interesting.
Female action figures frequently do--although I'm not sure whether it's a matter of the fanboy collectors' market, fangirls trying to snag heroic icons in their own image, and/or the ingrained sexism that leads toy companies to underestimate the demand for female action figures in the first place.
Also: girls totally lack iconic role models. Boys have Superman and Batman and G.I. Joe, but girls lack definitive badass role models.
