Bosslady is off for 6 weeks with an infected appendix and another colleague has had to go the the bedside of his ailing father. Generally not a good week health-wise for this establishment - just don't tell the agents! -

X is in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital tonight. Party time
I've just enjoyed, for the very first time, the luxury of handing over my dry-cleaning to a secretary who will deal with the whole process for me. Having something dry-cleaned is a treat in itself because it is something that I haven't done since...ooh, 1990s? So delegated dry-cleaning feels positively indulgent ( Read more... ) -

Spike wandering around the dining area like a lost soul yesterday. I told him to go and sit in the TV room and read or play with his Lego or do something useful but he informed me that "I'm not allowed in there while Dada's watching "A Chocolate Orange"." -

In Spike's homework diary under "Science", he had written "eny fucks abot spas".
So,casually, "What science homework do you have today?"
"The teacher told us to do some research and write down any facts about space".

Bushfires
Just incredulous and horrified as is most of Australia. My friend in Victoria tells me that at last count 128 people were confirmed dead. I donated $100 to the Red Cross appeal but it seems so paltry in comparison to the scale of the disaster. -
Holidays
