Heads, shoulders, foot and lungs.

I just want to say that I love Bossman who is so good and so flexible and managed to find cover so I could get out of work early and pick up the kids from school.

X was in the short stay ward on his back, foot in the air. There were bandages and Bettadine. There was also an 8cm piece of spiky wood in a jar. It looked like a holy relic, shard of the one true cross or somesuch. He will stay in overnight and they will chek the wound tomorrow - if they suspect there are still pieces inside. then they will knock him out slice open his foot and clean it and that will mean another day in the hospital.

I was dutiful and took him toiletries, clothing and reading material. He got all excited by the copy of Australian MacWorld which is a bit of a treat.

As for my consumptive workplace, we released the news slowly so as not to cause panic; senior staff first, then senior teachers and then the rest of the teachers and clerical. Students won't be informed until the Health Dept gives us more information. The teacher concerned is one of our most valued players; newly-promoted to Exam Coordinator, she had raised $2000 for the "World's Greatest Shave" and was meant to be having all her hair buzzed off at a celebratory school barbecue on March 13th. She is one of the brightest and the best and it is so awful that it should happen to her. It is most likely that she picked up the disease while she was in South America (she lived there for 4 years only returning last August).

Anyway, tired now. I just want to slump in front of the TV and not talk.
