Chapter Eight

The next day Tina had a hard time acting normal around her parents. They had become very aware and suspicious of her lately, and even though she was a little grateful for the new attentiveness, she was not loving it now. Especially when her dad told her he’d be spending a good chunk of his work day in his office.

And now Quinn was on her way over, Tina was once again a nervous wreck, and her father was puttering around the kitchen, finally getting ready to actually leave for work. Tina sat by the stairs, realizing how pathetic it would seem, but not caring. She couldn’t think of much else than whatever this thing was that was going on between them. Tina was beginning to realize that while she was attracted to Quinn, she still didn’t know much about her. But maybe that was for the better if they were only going to be friends with benefits, and this was just a temp job.

Things seemed to be getting really intense really fast between Quinn and Tina and it was totally unexpected to the blonde. Because seriously what were the odds that the first time in forever that she felt anything was for a girl... and for Tina Cohen-Chang of all people. But it was just making out, just making out she kept telling herself.

Except if Quinn weren’t in such denial she would know that was total crap. She spent forever getting ready to go to Tina’s house, spending extra time curling her hair and trying on a million different outfits and picking the right lip gloss. It was really stupid. Finally though she was looking super hot (like hotter than normal) and grabbed her car keys to go over to Tina’s.

Judy Fabray raised her eyebrow when she saw her daughter pass by the kitchen. She was cooking for the Church’s bake sale and knew that Quinn was going out but she hadn’t seen Quinn so made up in a while. “You look nice honey,” she said with slight suspicion.

“Oh, thanks,” Quinn said, trying to act normal. “I was just bored and thought I’d mess around with some make up. You know how I have to wear my uniform every day in school. It’s fun to dress up.” The explanation was probably overkill but she sort of couldn’t stop talking. “Anyway, I’m going to work on my Glee project at Tina’s, see you later mom.”

With that she shrugged on her winter clothes and drove to Tina’s, taking a few breaths before knocking on the door.

At the sound of Quinn at her door, Tina nearly jumped to her feet, but decided to take a moment to calm herself down and make it seem less obvious that she’d just been waiting. She glanced at herself in the hall mirror for a second, but felt stupid for doing it. However, when she answered the door and saw her standing there, looking gorgeous, Tina was glad that she seemed to care enough to make the effort.

“Hey,” she said, smiling easily and stepping back for Quinn to come inside.

“Hi,” Quinn said, walking inside confidently. She was pretty sure Tina was checking her out and in the not so back of her mind she was actually pretty pleased with herself. She unbuttoned her coat and walked towards the closet. “My coat goes here, right?”

“Yeah,” Tina said, still staring. And seeing Quinn act so confident, only helped to build up her own. She glanced towards the kitchen where her dad still was, making sure all was clear before walking up behind Quinn and giving her a small kiss on the neck before wrapping her arms around her waist. “Okay, now before you get the wrong idea, and don’t freak out, but my dad is still here. He’s leaving soon though, so no worries,” she whispered.

Quinn’s eyes went wide and she froze. What the hell was Tina trying to do, get them caught?! “I don’t think we should be doing this if your dad could walk in and see us at any moment,” she said just as quietly. Except it was kind of exciting... Wait, what? No. No, this was bad.

Tina rolled her eyes and removed her arms. “He’d have to care first,” she mumbled to herself. Though she instantly felt guilty about it afterwards, not normally being one to outwardly talk bad about her parents. Still, keeping a calm smile on her face, she took Quinn’s hand and started to pull her towards the kitchen. “Though I guess I should have waited to do that until after I introduced you. But you’ll forgive me if I say I couldn’t help myself.”

As if introducing me to your parents would make us sneaking around more acceptable, Quinn thought sarcastically but allowed herself to be dragged to the kitchen. When she caught sight of the Asian man in the kitchen she slowly pulled her hand out of Tina’s and looked between father and daughter, wondering how this would go. Looking back at Tina, she waited for the introduction.

Tina walked into the kitchen with Quinn behind her, to find her dad doing something on his Blackberry. She waited for a second before interrupting him. “Uh, dad? This is Quinn, we’ve been working on that Glee project I was telling you and mom about.” One thing Tina would say about her father is that he was very calculating. He looked at people, even his own daughter, like he was always sizing them up, trying to figure out whether or not they were worthy of his respect. It was something she couldn’t stand about him.

She watched him go over to Quinn and give her a quick handshake and hello, pleased to see him smiling politely. Clearly Quinn had made a decent first impression. Tina felt herself relax and didn’t even realize she’d been tense. “Are you going to work now?” Tina asked, trying to sound nonchalant.

He gave her a slightly exasperated look. “Is there any particular reason you seem so anxious to be rid of me?” he asked her in Mandarin.

She blushed slightly before simply shaking her head no. “Okay, well we’re just going to get to work then. I’ll see ya later, Dad,” she said quickly, motioning for Quinn to go upstairs ahead of her.

Quinn just blinked a few times, caught off guard at Tina’s dad speaking well, not English. It was kind of cool that Tina could speak Chinese (she thought that’s what it was anyway) though. Giving Tina’s dad a brief smile, she said, “Nice meeting you Mr. Chang,” before turning and following directions to go up. She looked around Tina’s bedroom and dodged things on the floor as she made her way over to sit on the bed. Hopefully it wouldn’t give Tina the wrong idea but the other other option was the desk chairs and they weren’t as comfortable.

“So, I didn’t know you spoke Chinese,” she said casually.

Tina shrugged, taking a seat on the bed next to Quinn, but moving back so she was leaning more against the headboard. “I understand it better than I can speak it. I usually choose to speak English. But yeah, I do. It’s important to my dad that I retain important aspects of our culture,” she said, trying to quote him. “Mostly the language. But it’s kinda cool, speaking a language you don’t hear that often around here.”

“I’m the same with Spanish. I mean, because Santana’s family speaks it and I practically grew up with her, so yeah. Chinese is definitely cooler though,” Quinn said as she moved to face Tina and crossed her legs.

“I dunno if it’s cooler, just different. I mean, I think it’s pretty cool that you can speak Spanish.” Tina sat up more, positioning her pillow behind the small of her back. “I know a bit of Yiddish too,” she said, laughing lightly. “But I never ever use it. Just like random words here and there. Like, I call my grandma Bubbe. And stuff like that,” she said, a little embarrassed at admitting she actually called her grandmother that and had been for as long as she could remember.

“That’s cute,” Quinn relied, though blushed slightly. “I mean, that’s cool.” Ugh, keep it together, Fabray, she mentally chastised herself.

“So, um, what should we work on today?” She asked, biting her lip slightly. Maybe she sort of wanted to make out with Tina again but no way was that going to happen if Tina’s dad was still there. Talk about awkward. Best just work on their Glee stuff...

“Cute, huh?” she asked, smirking. “Um... well, we went through all the videos yesterday and worked on some of the dances. But I tweaked a few things so it would transition better, so I could show you my ideas,” she explained, already not digging the idea of work. Until my dad leaves, and then we can do what we both know we’d rather be doing, she thought to herself, feeling a little mischievous.

Ignoring the slight blush on her face, Quinn just nodded in agreement. “Yeah, that’s a good idea, the choreography stuff,” she said, also trying to ignore that weird little glint in Tina’s eye. What was she thinking? Clearly not good things. Or maybe it was good things, except of the naughty variety. If they were going to get anything productive done that day, Quinn really didn’t need to be thinking about that. “So, show me what you got,” she continued, giving another decisive nod.

Tina quickly positioned herself on her hands and knees and leaned closer to Quinn. “I can do that,” she said quietly, feeling her face grow very warm. But before either one of them could start something, she hopped off the bed and went over to her laptop, opening up the video on Youtube.

Going through the song the first time included a lot of pausing and explaining the things she changed to Quinn, before she went through it a second time completely. Keeping all of what she considered the signature dance move for each video and then mixing something here and combining something there, she thought it was pretty solid. But she wouldn’t tell Quinn she’d been on video chat with Mike for hours the night before while he helped and gave her ideas.

Tina was actually a pretty good dancer and the new steps she put in their choreography did make things move more smoothly. “That’s good,” she said once Tina was done showing her the routine. “Like, really good.” And it didn’t hurt that she looked really hot when dancing. Except thinking of Tina like that made it hard to concentrate on picking up the new steps she was supposed to be learning.

“Uh, thanks,” she said, breathing a little heavy. “I’m glad you liked it.” She reached out with one hand, half-heartedly trying to pull Quinn off the bed, but really just pulling herself closer. “Do you want me to show you how?”

Quinn looked up at Tina trying to ignore how much she just wanted to pull her down on the bed and say ‘screw you’ to the dancing. “Is your dad still here?” She asked suddenly.

Tina looked out the window and saw fresh tire marks in the light layer of snow on the driveway. “No. He is not,” she said, her smile growing. She pulled herself closer until her knees hit the edge of the bed.

“I see,” she said, unsure of whether that was exactly what she wanted to hear (which it really was!) or if it was a really bad thing (which it also really was!). As she continued to mentally debate with herself, Quinn lifted her hand slowly and moved it until it was resting gently on Tina’s hip. She felt sort of small with Tina standing over her and she felt a little nervous too, which were two things Quinn just didn’t feel, except when Tina was involved apparently. The simple solution in her head was to put them on level heights so she tugged lightly on the other girl, motioning for her to get on the bed.

Tina felt a smug smile cross her face as she pulled herself up on the bed, her knees on each side of Quinn, lowering herself so that she was straddling the other girl’s lap. She placed both arms on Quinn’s shoulders, draping them around her neck loosely. But she stopped there. Deciding she wanted Quinn to make the first move this time. “Do you still want me to show you how?” she asked, softly.

How Tina expected Quinn to function when she was straddling her lap and looking at her like that and talking like that, she had no idea... So it took a few moments for Quinn to stop biting her lip and shake her head no. “I think we can work on that stuff later...” she practically whispered back before leaning in slowly to kiss Tina.

As soon as their lips touched, Tina felt herself relax and tense up at almost the same time. She often wondered why, within only a few seconds of kissing Quinn, she wanted to just push Quinn down on the bed and do terrible things to her. Instead she settled for burying a hand in Quinn’s hair as she returned the kiss. “I was hoping you’d say that,” she finally answered, in between kisses.

For just making out, Quinn thought all of this was pretty damn great. She was so into it that she wasn’t even phased that Tina’s hand was probably messing up her hair, which had literally taken forever to curl. Instead she just said, “stop talking,” before pressing her lips to Tina’s again.

Tina tried not to laugh into the kiss, but followed Quinn’s command and didn’t say another word. Instead she placed her other hand on the small of Quinn’s back, pulling them closer as she ran her tongue along Quinn’s slowly before biting her bottom lip lightly. Nothing wrong with getting just a little rough. Hopefully as they progressed Quinn would allow her to get more creative. But right now, Tina had no complaints.

Quinn’s hands migrated from around Tina’s waist onto her thighs. They were mostly just there to being with but when she felt Tina nipping at her lip she increased her hold and actually grabbed onto Tina as she returned her kiss a little harder than before. It seemed like Tina liked that and honestly Quinn sort of did too. Things had been pretty tame in the past for her but she didn’t have the same concerns as she did in the past while kissing Tina so she really had no problem with things getting a little more intense.

Feeling encouraged by Quinn’s slight aggressiveness, Tina had an idea. Peeking to see if there was enough room on the bed, Tina wrapped both hands around Quinn’s waist and went to push her down on the bed. Running her hands up Quinn’s arms, she pinned them to the bed by the forearm, breaking their kiss and moving down to Quinn’s neck, kissing and nipping at random areas of skin. She was careful not to bite too hard, knowing Quinn wouldn’t appreciate the hickey.

At Tina’s forcefulness, Quinn let out a gasp of surprise and watched, her wide eyed. Feeling helpless (but in a surprisingly hot way... wait, what?) Quinn moved one of her legs around Tina’s waist, pulling her down closer, and instinctively moved her head to the side, giving Tina better access to her neck.

Tina let out a moan at the feel of Quinn pulling her down with her leg. Their bodies were so close Tina could feel Quinn’s heartbeat against her chest. Releasing Quinn’s arms, she moved them down to her waist and under her shirt, running her nails along the sides of Quinn’s back, not enough to hurt, and just before jerking her hips, hard, against Quinn’s. Her mouth, still attached to the blonde’s neck.

Quinn let out a long moan, so taken off guard by how good this all felt. Why hadn’t it ever been like that in the past? Now that her hands were free she brought them down to grab Tina’s ass and pulled her against herself again, moaning as she did. It had definitely never been like this.

Tina gasped suddenly, arching her back as she brought their lips back together. Her hands now on either side of Quinn’s head and her hair falling around their faces. She moved her hips against Quinn’s steadily. She was slightly amazed at how good this felt. Tina had known she was attracted to girls, but had just assumed she preferred boys. But she’d never felt quite this desperate for anyone before. Not even Artie.

She didn’t have a clue what was going on but she rocked her hips back against Tina, feeling like it was what she should be doing. And it felt amazing. Like, she seriously had never felt this weird fluttering feeling in the pit of her stomach. Kissing Tina hungrily now, Quinn grabbed her ass and pulled her down more forcefully, feeling like something was going to happen, though she didn’t know what.

Tina’s breath quickened as she felt a familiar tightness in the pit of her stomach. That was quick, she thought to herself, mentally congratulating Quinn on her efficiency. She pressed her leg up, in between Quinn’s thighs, and sped up their pace, determined to bring Quinn as close as she already was.

It was getting hard for Quinn to breath and she broke their kiss, panting as she moved her hips with Tina’s. Not much longer though the feeling in her stomach was getting more intense and then it happened. She arched her back as she moaned loudly, and bucked her hips hard into Tina, trying to prolong whatever it was that was happened because it felt so good.

Tina bit her lip as she watched Quinn, keeping up with their pace, now trying to bring herself to completion. She nearly cried out when Quinn bucked against her and gave one last thrust before she clamped her mouth on Quinn’s neck, groaning loudly as she came. She kept her face buried in Quinn’s neck as she tried to regain control of her breathing. Finally bringing her head up, she ran a hand through her hair and smiled at Quinn. “That was awesome.”

Quinn bit her lip and looked up at Tina shyly before nodding in agreement. That had been pretty awesome and she couldn’t believe that hadn’t happened when she and Puck had sex. Except, wait. “Did that count as sex?” She asked, confused.

Tina moved to get off of Quinn and collapsed next to her on the bed. “Uh, I don’t think so. But I don’t really know. I’ve never had sex with a girl before.” Normally, after things like this happened, Tina went into cuddle mode. But she didn’t think she could get away with that now. Not with Quinn.

“But you’ve had sex with a guy?” Quinn asked, feeling oddly and shockingly jealous. Where was that coming from? It didn’t make sense for her to be feeling like this when she had been the one to lay down the law and say that this was only making out.

Tina shot Quinn a confused look. “Well... yeah. Artie and I were together for like, six months.” She couldn’t quite tell if Quinn looked jealous or just shocked. And she didn’t know which she would even prefer. “Why?”

“I--No reason. I mean, you just made it sound like you had except you’re, you know, you.” Quinn said, as if that explained everything. See, she wasn’t jealous at all. She was just in disbelief. Yep. Totally.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Tina asked, feeling a little offended. But maybe she was just misunderstanding what Quinn was trying to tell her.

“I don’t know. Never mind,” Quinn said quickly then moved to get off the bed to cross the room and look in the mirror. Her hair was totally wrecked and she sighed slightly thinking about all the hard work she had put into it. Whatever.

Running her hands through her hair, untangling it, she noticed a little red mark on her neck. “Oh my God, Chang, you totally gave me a hickey. Now I’m going to have to like, wear a scarf inside and my mom is going to think something is wrong with me,” she said, scowling back at Tina through the mirror.

Tina’s eyes widened slightly and she got up to look for herself. “Oh, sorry. I have a pretty good concealer you can use though. It’s the green kind. Covers up red marks really well,” she said, as she shuffled through one of many make-up bags on her dresser. After finding it, she pulled it out and handed it to her.

Quinn accepted the make-up and worked on dabbing it over the small red mark. As she blended it in she was pleased to see that the mark was hardly visible anymore. “It’s weird how this stuff works. But kind of cool. Um, thanks. Except not for actually giving me the hickey in the first place.”

“It’s all about neutralizers. Green is opposite red on the color wheel, so basically, it like, cancels it out,” she explained offhandedly. “And it’s not a problem. But sorry for the hickey.” Except she wasn’t that sorry considering what had gone along with it.

Sitting down at her desk chair she watched Quinn apply the concealer, her mind still on what Quinn had said before. “So, what am I then?” she asked suddenly. “Your exact words were, ‘except you’re you’, so... what am I?”

“Nothing. I mean, you’re something, but I didn’t mean anything by it. I was just like, talking without knowing what I was saying because of what happened.” Totally understandable, right? Quinn hoped so anyway.

Tina shrugged, accepting her answer. “Okay... You can keep that, by the way,” she said, giving a nod at the concealer. “I have a ton of it.” Wondering what they were supposed to do now, Tina rolled her chair closer to Quinn and took her hand. “So, what do you want to do now?” She asked. Personally, she was starving.and was hoping Quinn could hear her thoughts right now, which were currently asking for some Chinese food.

After having a few minutes to process what had just happened, Quinn was sort of freaking out now. First off, she was pretty sure Tina Cohen-freaking-Chang had just given her her first orgasm. Second, that meant they had practically had sex. And third, she had gotten jealous (maybe) when Tina told her about boning Wheels (it was way too weird thinking about, and she figured if maybe she didn’t think his name it wouldn’t be real).

“I should probably just get home. It looks like it’s going to snow and we wouldn’t want another snow-in incident...” she said, looking out the window.

Tina tried not to let her smile falter. She didn’t understand why Quinn was acting so weird. Was it really that bad that she’d accidentally given her a hickey? Or had she done something else wrong that she wasn’t aware of? “I dunno. I didn’t mind the last snow-in,” she joked. “But that’s fine. I’ll walk you down,” she said, standing up.

Still looking at her appearance in the mirror, she decided there was no way to salvage her hair and threw it up in a messy bun before turning to follow Tina out. “Yeah well, my mom was really worried and stuff last time and told me to get home if it started snowing again, so...” Which was actually half true. The worrying half.

Once downstairs, Quinn retrieved her coat from the closet and pulled it on, then pulled her car keys out of the pocket, fiddling with them slightly as she looked at Tina. “So, see you later then.”

“Yeah. Definitely.” She leaned over to give Quinn a quick peck on the lips. “Maybe next time we’ll get actual work done.” Except she kinda hoped they didn’t, which was bad of her. She normally didn’t like to procrastinate this bad. But the alternative was so much more appealing.

Quinn let out a weak chuckle and nodded. “Yeah, maybe. Well, bye,” she said before walking outside to car. Even though it was just a short drive home, she knew she was going to have to drive around for a while to calm herself down. This thing with Tina was getting complicated...
