[The woman that stands before you... okay not actually before you but you know in the mirror... come on, dude, you're harshing my rhythm! Look, the woman who stands before you is looking... oddly calm, all things considered. Well okay by 'all things' I guess I really just mean the fact that you haven't seen her around before, so... she's probably ( Read more... )

Was truly impressive!

[Royalty who?

Princess what.]

[Wha]

...I'm sorry, miss... but, "impressive" how?

[oh my god she looks so confused rn]

You only just arrived, but the way you're carrying yourself even in a situation like this one... Yes, it's obvious just by looking at you.

[she explains so much]

She wants to build an all-female Utopian society with an overemphasis on love. It's pathetic.

She considers this for a moment.]

I'm afraid I have to disagree on "pathetic", but... if that's the case, then her methods are absurd. If she had simply distributed these [she holds up the welcome scroll again] as legitimate invitations, rather than letters of greeting to her abductees...

Utopian societies are a fairytale dream; they don't exist and for good reason. Expecting one to exist because she says so is pathetic.

I don't disagree; that said, unattainable ideals exist so that we might always have something to strive for.

Not that that sort of long-sighted optimism is for everyone... or should be forced on anyone.

[Wow, this got derailed quickly.]

[Wow, what a classy lady...Utena is even inspired to straighten her posture and look directly into the mirror.]

I think she wants you to build whatever you want. Er, that is...she doesn't give us any instructions. A lot of people build things from their homes.

[This princess could use some saving, miss prince!

Also, you seem to have further confused her.]

...I see. I'd taken for granted that "build" was meant in a less literal sense, but... do you mean that this is some sort of forced-labour encampment, focused on actual construction?

[no, dear....]

[Oh boy, rescuing princesses! Utena will jump at the chance.

She rubs the back of her neck.] Wha--no, nothing like that! It's not that bad. We "build" using the magic dirt and sand. It's all over the place.

[...she is just getting more and more confused. At least in her last theory they were using like logs and shit to build, instead of making giant sandcastles......

wait, but, she said "magic". maybe that counts for something.]

...I'm sorry, but I suppose I'm a bit confused. Building from sand and dirt seems as though it would be even more difficult than using more conventional building materials.

If only proper diplomacy worked around here.

I suppose I should not be surprised that it doesn't, given our abduction; still, a polite word is never wasted.

I assume, then, that I am not the first to attempt to engage our captor?

[An unjustly imprisoned person doesn't necessarily consider diplomacy a reasonable option, so... it's not necessarily that ridiculous of a question?]

Far from it. Sometimes she does speak to us, however that doesn't mean one would get anywhere.

Would you believe that I have been here for over a year and I still don't know the exact answer to that?

But you did good on reading the situation.

From what I've been told so far... yes, I think I would believe it.

[She sighs; this shit is pretty much whack.]

I wish I could take pride - or solace - in that, but...

As you have talked to others, I can assume you have been told what you need to know?

I have learned some things - of our captor, guesses at her motives and character, of the... abnormal earth, with which one can build - but... if there's anything else you could share, I have no doubt that it would be helpful.
