I am trying to do a thing and post every day! We'll see how that goes!

So the follow-up to the 7th grade boy who let slip he watches Teen Wolf is thus:

Me: So who's your favorite character?

Him: Ummm….ummmm….well, I guess Scott!

Me: Scott is really awesome.

Him: Actually, Allison. Yeah, Allison, she’s the BEST ( Read more... )

teen wolf, do i really need a real life tag?, jobbing

You know it's funny, but I honestly think that Stiles' popularity is very tumblr based because the couple of times I've talked to non-tumblr TW fans I have also gotten Scott and Allison as the faves. I think that may be because Stiles is the type of character that the average tumblr user is going to like/relate to the most? Plus people who watched season 1 of TW for non-fandom reasons (*cough*sterek*cough*) MUST have liked Scott and Allison since their story-lines were so centric.

Gosh, it must be REALLY nice to be able to watch TW and be blissfully unaware of all its issues.

Haha, that's interesting because I made my parents watch S1 of Teen Wolf with me and my mom hands-down loved Stiles above everyone else--like, she pretty much hated the show, but she loved Stiles.

RIGHT? Augh, if only if only...

Sounds like a war zone over there! But in a fun, interesting way.

I *love* that this kid's favorite character is a girl. From what I've read that's pretty rare (then again, some of those researches drive me crazy with their stupidity, so) - and on a show that has options! And it sounds like it wasn't even a gender-based choice, she was just his favorite character. That is *awesome*.

Hey, Stiles is cool, but Lydia might be my favorite

True Alpha - Aha! So there is a fan out there who gives a fuck about that! I wasn't sure that existed.

I think it must be so much fun to be this kid, watching this show and just enjoying the hell out of itAww... yeah... I was just talking with a friend about us not being as excited about spending hours at book stores anymore. Still love them, I still feel at home and wanna play and so forth, but I also know that chances of me finding things I'm truly excited about are close to nothing. I read a whole lot these days, but I get most all of it online, or sometimes as the uni library (they don't have ( ... )

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY! I didn't get to grill him on it, but he genuinely seemed to like her as a person, or at least not just because she's hot! ONE FOR THE GOOD GUYS. \O/

I was thinking along those lines about the fair rides, recently. How I used to love going on at least a handful and now it's like...eh. I'd have to wait in line, I'd be surrounded by teenagers, just, ehh. But it still feels like I'm missing out, somehow. ://

My daughters are this age (although here we don't have middle school). They drive me nuts... and they are awesome. It's an age where I think kids are the least in touch with the rest of humanity, haha.

Anyway. We watch TW together and every time I am all "GRRR M@#&%^$ing PLOT HOLES!" they are all "Wut? This is awesome!"
It's actually kind of cool watching it with them. They remind me that it's okay to take a show at face value and enjoy the hell out of it no matter what.

Also? Tape over a kid's mouth? Man! I wish I could get away with that shit. I am pretty sure I will never get my girls to do it, especially when they are bickering like old married crazy people. It's tempting though. ;)

I bet it is! Man, I love what I get out of analyzing shows and movies the way I do, but fandoms teach us to be too critical sometimes. It's good to know when to pull back and let the media wash over you.
