Have you read the book? It has been some time sense I read the book, but I am pretty sure that is how the book started. The Hobbit is a children's book.

Oh yeah, no, I know it's the classic starting line, "In a hole in the ground lived a hobbit, etc." and then Tolkein goes on to describe what a hobbit hole looks like for an audience that doesn't know wtf a hobbit even is. But the movie started with Bilbo saying "Dear Frodo, let me tell you about my adventures, blah blah blah, here we go: In a hole in the ground lived a hobbit. Let me explain what a hobbit hole looks like even though you've been living in one all your life."

Oh...OK. I haven't seen the movie yet. I am looking forward to it.
