More bad, but not terrible, news about my Wunderkatze

So the vet got to take a closer look at Ginger's X-rays this weekend and wrote me that Ginger has a back injury (two of her vertebrae are squishing a disk a little) and her kidneys are slightly disformed, which signals the start of chronic kidney disease :( So the plan for now is just to continue with the normal treatment, and she's absolutely in ( Read more... )

Awww...poor ginger. Hope she recovers soon. *Fingers crossed- lets hope there is some miracle and she doesn't suffer from chronic kidney disease...*
And that her vertebrae align themselves properly. (I had a classmate with the same problem with her vertebrae- and I remember how hard it as for to move or sit properly)Not a kitty, I know...but still.

Poor kitty. Hug her for me? (Not too hard, don't wanna hurt her...)

And I hope your migraine goes away too.

Yeah she doesn't seem to be in any pain, but there are parts of her coat that she doesn't seem to groom as much. Maybe her back hurts when she tries to do that. Poor lovie :( And will give her a hug from you when I get home!

Ohhh, poor dear!! Such awful news to get!

Just treat her extra loving and it will balance itself out. Kitties do have a way of letting you know if they don't feel good/are in pain, love. Ginger knows you love her...

*HUGS*

Hope you both feel better soon, bb...

It's hard with Ginger because she's very much a No Touchie cat. SHE will come to YOU if she wants attention, and that's usually at night or in the morning. The rest of the day, if I want to give her a hug, i have to sneak one in, and she only puts up with it so long before she growls, lol. She's been like that her whole life. But now I'll never know if she's just being Ginger or if she's growling cuz it hurts :( I hope she knows I love her...

Poor girl! But believe me if you pet her and she doesn't hiss she's ok and you don't hurt her.

Awww, poor GingerGirl! *pets her gently* It's very hard to tell with kitties :-( sometimes I think they just get used to pain as 'normal,' which is very worrisome. I think you're pretty on top of things and you are doing your best--would something like Cosequin help, it's glucosomine for animals, it helped Pris' arthritis a lot! When Pris was limping, Dr. F was examining her by manipulating her paws all around and she growled the whole time--and you'd think it was because it hurt--but when he 'tested' her by doing the same exam to the other back paw, she still growled. Dr. F said he had to try and see if she was growling from pain or because he was "hissing her off." Ha ( ... )

"Hissing her off"--now THAT is funny >:-D

I'm prepared to do what I have to. I just hope that it's enough. I don't just want her to live, I want her to be healthy and ENJOY life, y'know?

Oh no! I'm glad it's not horrible news, but still. To echo what others have said, at least you know. And it sounds like she's not in too much pain yet, so that's good.

*hugs to both of you*
