Lately I've been working on translating some doujinshi I bought at A-kon. I guess I've made some decent progress at parts, but most of it I can't really figure out. I kind of wish I had people I felt I could ask for help with this sort of thing, but I don't really talk to anyone who can help, and it's kind of weird to ask someone out of nowhere, "

One of the banzy rabyuu books I have. :D Correspondance. It's pretty and has pron, so. XD

What kind of stuff do you use to translate with? And what are you having trouble with? Kanji recognition, or grammar

Mostly it's grammar. I can usually find kanji alright between the handwriting reader on my computer and jisho.org. So I can tell what the sentences are about, but can't make out what exactly they are saying about it.

I put off scanning this one for a while, but I finally did it (badly due to trying not to kill it), because I'm basically scanlating the whole thing myself. I'd make a really good editor/typesetter for a group, even though I suck at the translation part. :D; But there's little blue notes written in the bubbles in photoshop, as well as a word document with the whole thing transcribed with bits and pieces of translations.

I...don't really watch that much anime. XD It happens in ridiculous bursts when I get the urge, though I wonder if I should start watching it more so I'm hearing it more often. :D;

Ah, I find the forums at thejapanesepage.com useful for grammar. The site itself isn't bad for more basic stuff but last time I checked the section on grammar was incomplete.

From some of the crappy scanlations I've seen, I think a lot of groups could use a good editor. xD

Well, as compared to my not watching it at all since around three years ago, you have a slight advantage in the slang department. lol
