Who: Claire & Anyone When: This evening Where: The Beach Rating: G, for now Warnings: None, as of yet Summary: Claire's really curious to find this sea monster people speak of...
Word of a monster brought an opportunist out to the shoreline. Where there was conflict, there were people to observe. And possibly items to swipe off mangled corpses in the process. It didn't mean he wouldn't arrive with the pretense to help out, however, although it'd probably help if he knew more about the people arranging the group outing. He just overheard someone talking. But that was enough.
Claire greeted the stranger with a smile and wave, motioning for him to come in closer. "Hey." She was attempting to figure the best way to ask the question she had on her mind, without looking like a complete nutcase. In the end, she decided it wasn't possible.
"Have you heard anything about a giant Nessie like monster running around in the ocean?"
Kagami strode over, looking as effortlessly heroic as possible (paradox, anyone?) so that there'd be absolutely no question that he was really here to fight monsters to his dying breath.
"Sure," he replied, smiling like a charming psychopath. "I'm came to help. Could you tell me a little more about it specifically? You know, the size, speed, average kill count per encounter..."
He was lucky that Claire was the kind of girl who made friends with charming psychopaths. She blinked in response to his questions, however, and gave a shrug of her shoulders.
"All I know is it's really big, and can make its way up on land. I have no idea how fast it is, or how many people it's killed. It's eaten someone's hand, I know. Which is kind of creepy, but not really all that threatening."
She bit at her lip, turning her gaze back out toward the water. "I'm Claire, by the way."
Viral was going to the shoreline again, perhaps to catch a glimpse of that terrible sea monster who wanted to eat him. He grunted irritably, approaching the beach, he saw a figure, and watched it for a moment.
Human. Blond. Was it that person who regenerated? "Tche, come here looking for something?" he said. His appearance was one that the average human considered strange. Large, animal-like hands, sharp teeth (much like a sharks), a slender body with muscles in the arms and legs. Definitely made to be someone who could fight.
"A monster." Claire responded, ceasing her walking to look over at him. The first thing she took notice of was his hands, but she didn't comment on them. She was getting used to meeting all kinds of random people, with all kinds of random limbs. "You seen one out here, by chance?" No, she wasn't sounding overly excited while asking that. Not at all.
"So you're Claire," Viral said, putting his cleaver at his waist, and folding his arms over his chest. He dug the nails of his hand into his arm and still remained unamused looking (even though he was). "That thing. Yeah, I fuckin' did. It's. Large." Not meant for little girls.
"And you are? Since you know who I am, it's only fair I know you." She pointed out with an amused smirk, reaching up to brush hair out of her face. "And it can't be that bad. Are you afraid of it?" She lightly teased, her eyebrow perking as she turned her head to look over at him.
A monster? At the beach? Raditz, of course, had to bear witness to this. And so, here he was, his armor covered in sand, and his hair full of the stuff as well. "Claire, are you certain about this? I've pretty much stuck to this area for the last while and I've seen nothing." I still need to find a job, too, he thought with a disgruntled frown.
Blinking, Claire was suprised by Raditz showing up. Even still, she offered him a smile and a little wave of her arm. "Of course I'm sure about this. Adam said it existed, and he wouldn't lie to me."
Of course, he could have been playing a joke on her. "He'd better not be lying to me,at least."
"Um...." Claire wasn't sure how to respond to that, really. The look on her face was nothing but confusion. "I... hm. I don't think killing it is a good idea. Other people should get to enjoy it, too!"
"It exists," Adam insisted upon approaching there. "If I could prove it to you with a lost hand I would. But it just grew back." Much like a lizard's. Lose body parts, they come back. He moved to the beach, pulling off his shoes and putting them at the top away from the water.
"Pfft," Raditz scoffed with a sneer. "You look like the type to lose a hand to an overlarge guppy. So this 'Sea Serpent' you speak of is more than likely just an irate squid or something like that."
"Hey!" Claire's eyes squinted downward into an annoyed glare, and she reached over to poke at Raditz. "That's not very nice. And it could happen to have very, very large, razor sharp teeth." Crossing her arms over her chest, she gave a nod of her head. Her glare had softened by this point.
She slowly turned her head to look over at Adam, however. Scooting over to stand at his side, she stood on her tiptoes to whisper to him, "It's not a giant squid, right?" If so, that would be really neat. Except for the part when tentacles got involved.
"What?" Raditz asked. "I'm wounded, Claire. That you think I am anything but the nicest, kindest and most saintly of souls... I simply state what I observe, and what I observe is an individual who looks like he'd be given a hard time by one of the electric rat things Grimmjow loves to decapitate."
Soma showed up, dishearted that they wouldn't be doing any monster slaying. Oh well, so sight seeing it was, and since he wasn't doing anything at the moment... He looked about at the shower line and at all the other assortment of people there and shrugged.
(OOC: ... wait if there's no sun how can people see anything in the bottom level? Spotlights or black lights?)
Claire saw another stranger approaching, and offered him the same bright smile she had to everyone else. Jogging over toward him, she gave him a light wave. "Hey there. You here for monster watch?"
[ooc: I think there's some kind of natural light leaking through here and there. Somehow, people always manage to tell the difference between night and day. haha I've never put any thought into it, actually. :x]
"Yeah..." He replied looking about. "We need more sunlight... or something..." His head cocked to the side he looked at the group that had come before him before shrugging. "You must be Teddy, hey I'm Soma." He replied with a faint smile and the realization that the sand moved on it's own power on this beach. No really it did.... IT DID! How else did one explain the fact he had SAND IN HIS BOOTS!?
"The light's not the problem, I don't think. We'll be able to see something that big, when it approaches." She laughed at being called Teddy, and gave a lazy nod of her head. "I'm Claire, yeah. Or Teddy. Whatever you'd like to call me. Good to meet you, Soma."
She pointed out toward the water. "I thought I saw the thing earlier. I'm pretty sure it was the monster. If it wasn't, we have a really big guppy swimming around."
