Who: Claire & Anyone When: This evening Where: The Beach Rating: G, for now Warnings: None, as of yet Summary: Claire's really curious to find this sea monster people speak of...
Viral was going to the shoreline again, perhaps to catch a glimpse of that terrible sea monster who wanted to eat him. He grunted irritably, approaching the beach, he saw a figure, and watched it for a moment.
Human. Blond. Was it that person who regenerated? "Tche, come here looking for something?" he said. His appearance was one that the average human considered strange. Large, animal-like hands, sharp teeth (much like a sharks), a slender body with muscles in the arms and legs. Definitely made to be someone who could fight.
"A monster." Claire responded, ceasing her walking to look over at him. The first thing she took notice of was his hands, but she didn't comment on them. She was getting used to meeting all kinds of random people, with all kinds of random limbs. "You seen one out here, by chance?" No, she wasn't sounding overly excited while asking that. Not at all.
"So you're Claire," Viral said, putting his cleaver at his waist, and folding his arms over his chest. He dug the nails of his hand into his arm and still remained unamused looking (even though he was). "That thing. Yeah, I fuckin' did. It's. Large." Not meant for little girls.
"And you are? Since you know who I am, it's only fair I know you." She pointed out with an amused smirk, reaching up to brush hair out of her face. "And it can't be that bad. Are you afraid of it?" She lightly teased, her eyebrow perking as she turned her head to look over at him.
"Viral," he introduced simply. He looked out at the water with one golden eye. Where the fuck was that monster anyway. But he twitched, and it was though he became an irate cat when she teased him about being afraid, hairs on end and everything. "I saw it eat a fucking shark." He brought one hand up and shook his head. "You're the regenerator, right?"
Her eyes grew wide, and she took a step back, but she didn't say anything about the shark eating. She did, however, nod in response to his question. "That would be me, yeah. Not that big of a deal." Unless a monster ate part of you, and you needed to grow it back.
"Human, though," Viral looked annoyed. Humans shouldn't be able to regenerate. It shouldn't be so easy for them. That frustrated and annoyed him. That they could have the same privileges he had, without any punishment. Her existance was impossible in his world. "Not a clone. Or science experiment?"
She looked almost offended. "I don't know what I am. But I know I'm not a clone, and I don't think I'm a science experiment. I'm...special." That was one way of putting it. "I'm pretty sure I'm human, though. Just a super human." She liked the sound of that so much that her offended look quickly went away and was replaced with one of confidence.
"Is there something wrong with being a human, Viral?"
Viral's eyes narrowed and what looked as though it were a smirk came to his lips. "...Humans aren't supposed to be like that." No one should be like that without punishment. Rewards were only gotten when one deserved it. Like he had obtained his immortality through Lord Genome because he had earned it, not because he was just born one da y.
"Humans are born with all kinds of interesting gifts." She frowned, wondering if she'd give up her ability if presented with the opportunity. She had gotten pretty fond of having it, even if it sometimes meant she had a lot to deal with. "I take it you're not very fond of humans, then."
"Hell no," Viral said. He was never fond of humans, and he didn't think he could be. It just wasn't in him. Liking them...was different from tolerating. "I put up with them."
"Oh." Claire grumbled, arms moving up to cross over her chest. Somehow, knowing she wasn't liked and was only being tolerated made her feel as if she should leave him alone. He didn't seem the type who would be good to annoy, no. "Should I go?" She bluntly asked, wondering if he wanted to watch for the monster in peace.
She gave a shrug of one of her shoulders, able to accept that answer as easy as he had given it to her. "Okay then. I barely consider myself human sometimes, too." She looked over at him, her arms unfolding from their place over her chest, hands moving to shove into the pockets on her jean skirt.
"So how did you come across this monster thing the first time, anyways?" It was time for a subject change.
If he didn't think of her as human, it was much easier on himself in the end. No human should be like him. "Fishing, then the fuckin' thing came right up to the shore, and used it's fins to get on the damn land." Viral didn't even think about his regenerative skills.
