As Kakashi brought out the book that he had been praising so highly, Miroku's face lit up as well in anticipation. He took the book from him gently, treating it like some kind of sacred treasure, afraid to handle it too roughly. He stared at the book for a moment before looking back up at Kakashi.

"It's that good? I shall go ahead then and begin!" He opened it and began reading, his eyes getting wider as he turned each page.

Kakashi observed the monk's reaction and nodded encouragingly before peering over his shoulder to read as well. After all, he wasn't against re-reading his book over and over. Not to mention that he'd only had Icha Icha Violence and the possibly non-authentic Icha Icha book that he'd found a few days after his arrival. So it had been a long time since he'd actually seen and re-read Icha Icha Paradise. A slow smile spread on his face as he followed along and recounted the good parts. Jiraiya was a magnificent writer~~~

Miroku was far too engrossed in the book to notice that Kakashi was looking over his shoulder and reading as well. Coming upon a particularly touching passage, he sighed wistfully. He continued reading forward, making quiet comments of "Mm", "Ah hah" and "How lovely" as he did so.

Tired of standing, he moved over to the pile of junk - without removing his eyes from the pages - and sat on some material that appeared to be stable enough to support his weight. He set his staff across his lap and commented out loud, "This is truly spectacular literature. I'm afraid I cannot stop reading this, it is that good."

If Kakashi hadn't been wearing that mask, one would see a hideously huge grin plastered on his face. After Miroku had taken a seat and spoken, Kakashi nodded sagely about his mentor's literature. "What more, there are continuations." With that, he held out Icha Icha Tactics and Icha Icha Violence. "So if you finish quickly, I'm more than happy to let you read the next two! I know you want to~"

He smirked as he flipped Icha Icha Violence open and began to re-read it--after all, it was definitely Jiraya's best work to date! "Ah, and I know the author; hopefully the next book's heroine will be based on my girlfriend."

That was when Miroku finally looked up. "Yes, you mentioned more than one book." He glanced appreciatively at the two others that Kakashi held in his hand and nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! Once I finish this one then I will love to read the others too.

It was hard to divide his attention between reading the book and talking to Kakashi, but somehow Miroku managed. "The writer must truly be a remarkable man. I would love to meet him. Do you think he could write a book about Sango as well?"
