Dad has cadaver bones in his wrist.  During the accident, the bones were so shattered and broken up that the X-ray looked like there was only powder in his joint.  Since the surgeons didn't have enough original bone to work with to repair his wrist, they used bones from another person who had donated their organs/essential parts to others.

I never wrote about our trip home, but I spoke with Dad today while Mom was at the hospital, so I thought I'd write about both at once.

He was in much better shape when I saw him than when he first entered the hospital.  Casts are on both arms up to the elbow and his left leg was in a cast with external hardware poking out of it.  He had a bandage ( Read more... )
