A quidditch related dilemma, a note about Defence lessons, and a caution on chocolates

The 'friendly-feud' between Daphne Greengrass and Tracey Davis progressed from minor annoyance, surpassing headache-inducing irritation and evnetually culminated in the other players threatening to go on strike unless something is done. I was grappling with the horns of this dilemma when a windfall came along and solved the problem for me. During ( Read more... )

Excuse me, professor, but what exactly are those points for?

For conduct properly befitting a studious individual.

And I'll see you in detention tomorrow evening for asking silly questions.

I remember that tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I don't think it's possible that I could forget. I'm not very partial to that holiday, I don't think. If you love somebody or whatnot then you shouldn't need a specific day set aside to tell them so. But then again, I enjoy holidays that remind others that I'm deserving owed their love. Are you going to wear a special costume in honour of the day?

Oh pish, Draco, don't be a grouse!!!! YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU ALL YEAR 'ROUND, AND SO DOES EVERYBODY ELSE!!!!

Of course I've a special costume for tomorrow -- it's red, white, pink, and black, with lots of ruffles and buckles!!!! And I've a matching bonnet, as well!!!! Will my costume cheer you up? Or do you need further prompting, hmm?

Well of course I know it.

I'm sure I'll find your costume entertaining and festive. I liked the Victorian bathing costumes, though I feel compelled to point out that it would be alot easier to drown in one of those.

That would be why Davis has been wailing to me for hours about "how Malfoy's only loyal to the good of the team when it serves him!!". I'm confident your version of the events is more accurate than hers, definitely.

What's she talking about? Now I just saw Daphne crying in the common room about Tracey leaving the team. What on earth... ?

I wasn't really listening (not to mention she was in hysterics), but I could make out that she'd been helping Greengrass in her own time. Apparently they hadn't told you for some reason. And now the team is doomed forever! According to her.

Knowing Davis, this help probably amounted to doing tarot readings about upcoming matches in the common room.

Helping? Tarot readings? This is all news to me. It's very confusing when two people seem to be best mates off the pitch and worst enemies on it. Besides, I didn't toss Tracey out of the game--her parents did.

I am confident, however, that Blaise will create far fewer waves. He has that... history with Daphne, but nothing ever seems to cause him to lose his temper. Have you ever noticed that?

I am not squashy, and if I look it then it is the fault of Creevey's photography skills. You can expect me at our new practise, prompt and ready to play. I am not so immune to commitment as you might think.

Excellent, Blaise. And no matter--whether the squashiness is your fault or Creevey's, we'll have you back in tip-top shape soon enough.
