Sounds like roseola. Leo's had it before -- exactly what you're describing with a bad rash a couple of days after a fever goes away.

Me too. This is a text book case of roseola. Sebs had it as well (very common) and his rash looked exactly the same. Poor little bug! Hope he feels better soon!

Agree, Matthew had it last winter. It could also just be a random virus running it course through his body. I have heard rashes can show at the end of the a virus, leaving the body.

Yup, Roseola. But, the good news is that once the rash hits, it's on it's way out. The fever is gone. Plus, I was told that the rash isn't itchy...

Do you know if it's contagious at this stage? Like, should I keep him home from school Weds? (even though he was there today? The rash showed up tonight, otherwise I wouldn't have sent him this morning!)

Not contagious at this stage. Once fever breaks, he is ok to return to school...
