Yup, roseola or a virus! Lil had that last year and I was worried about the rash but the Dr's said I didn't need to treat it. Hope he feels better!

Our friends' daughter had similar symptoms and was diagnosed with mono after ruling everything else out. Has he been on amoxicillin? If so, does it help the symptoms? If not, they had blood and urine tests to rule out a kidney infection and the white blood cell count was similar to mono. I'd take him to the doc.

Looks like roseola for sure. The rash appears after a fever and goes away in a day or two. The child is not contagious after the rash has appeared. J went to daycare with the rash 24 hrs after the fever had subsided. You don't need to treat the rash, it goes away in a day or two. Generally it looks worse than it is and doesn't really bother the kids. Hope Sam feels better!
