Кирилл Дмитриев, глава Российского фонда прямых инвестиций, был награжден в июне 2017 орденом Александра Невского "за большой вклад в реализацию международных инвестиционных проектов и социально-экономическое развитие Российской Федерации".

42-летний уроженец Киева Дмитриев получал образование в США, и до назначения гендиректором РФПИ работал на Виктора Пинчука в фонде прямых инвестиций Icon Private Equity. В своей официальной биографии Дмитриев пишет: "До того как возглавить РФПИ в 2011 году, руководил крупными фондами прямых инвестиций и провел ряд знаковых для России сделок: продажу Delta Bank компании GE, Delta Credit - Societe Generale, акций СТС Медиа - Fidelity Investments, и других."

Упомянутые сделки по продаже Delta Bank и Delta Credit Дмитриев заключил, работая на фонд TUSRIF (The U.S. Russia Investment Fund), созданный администрацией Билла Клинтона. В руководство TUSRIF входил нынешний министр торговли Уилбур Росс.



В Рашагейте Дмитриев оказался впервые замешан в связи со своими контактами с Энтони Скарамуччи. Звезда Скарамуччи закатилась быстро - он прослужил в администрации Трампа 10 дней, с 21 июля по 31 июля 2017. Но тем, что его туда наняли, он обязан в частности тем, что нанес урон репутации заклятого врага Трампа - CNN.

Scaramucci had met Dmitriev at previous Davos meetings, although at the gathering in January, Scaramucci was expecting to be named White House liaison to the business community.

Ныне Intercept сообщает, что именно Кирилл Дмитриев был тем неизвестным представителем Путина, с которым Эрик Принс тайно встречался на Сейшелах 11 января 2017.

The identity of the Russian individual was not disclosed, but on January 11, a Turkish-owned Bombardier Global 5000 charter plane flew Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, to the Seychelles, flight records obtained by The Intercept show. Dmitriev’s plane was an unscheduled charter flight and flew to the island with two other Russian individuals, both women.
