It took days before Kurt was well enough to leave the hospital. Days in which St. Mungo’s pushed people out then invited them back in again, finally content that they had the space and security to handle it; in which aid finally came in from other areas that couldn’t have been bothered before; and in which Puck sorely missed the convenience of Muggle vending machines. It was gratifying, at least, that Kurt shared Puck’s general contempt for the hospital staff.

“I don’t see why they can’t just bandage me up and send me off.”

“Because the first time they tried to do that, you bleed right through it, duh.”

“But they fixed that. They said it should be fine now, so I’m just sitting around here waiting for everything to heal ‘properly
