It wasn't glorious. There was no magnificent send-off, and no one came to tell them good luck or good bye. It was the middle of autumn, it was a year after graduation, and there was no good reason to think they'd be leaving that day.

Yet, everyone knew they were.

Puck was supposed to stay a Lima loser; they didn't believe that he'd really leave. Kurt was supposed to have left when Rachel did; some of them still didn't understand that he hadn't had a choice but to stay behind.

They write their own story, rolling out of town without a backward glance.
