Kurt stepped off the train, ready for a Christmas break that would take his mind off of all the less fun parts of school, to find his father standing next to Mrs. Hudson once again. “I don’t see why it has to be called ‘Christmas break,’” Ma grumbled, whisking them quickly out of the train station. “As if there aren’t any other holidays to be celebrated around the end of December.”
“It’s just easier to say, Ma.” He’d barely had enough time to wave goodbye before she had pulled him away, making sure they had his luggage and steering him out toward the car.
When they reached the parking lot, she finally stopped, turning to him with a real smile and bending down for a hug that he didn’t have to protest because there was no one else around to see it. “Oh, I have missed you, Noah. Come on, let’s get home. Your sister’s waiting there; I didn’t want to drag her all the way up to London
