I know without having ever read any Hardy but by watching this series that he is a sick, sadistic bastard.

That said I'm sure he's brilliant too. Anyway I'm really enjoying Tess of the D'uerbvilles (sp?) at the moment. Beautifully shot and acted and SO emotional. I love it. Plus, the guy who plays Angel Clare? :D
