Gai-sensei!! I thank you for your letter...it is always such a pleasant surprise to receive a message from you!
I have returned to Konoha earlier than expected from my sojourn in the Water Country! The obstacles of the mission proved to be more than manageable when approached with an judicious third eye and certain empathy. It is amazing what a little understanding free from the binding chains of dogmatism can make things SO much easier!

*opens his journal and sees this; ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED and starts to write back at once*
You're welcome, Lee-kun; and thank you for writing back so promptly!! *pauses as he considers what to say next*
[[Okay, you win. I can just see Lee declaiming all this with that serious expression he gets. XDDDD Did Gai receive it while he was still exhausted, or the following morning?]]

*has dashed off the following before seeing Lee's next comment*
..and you're back in Konoha already!? Very expeditious!!! And you're absolutely right about the important role of empathy in cross-cultural dealings. How did you get so SMART??? *tearsofpride*
..Ah, yes, the Kneazel!!! Its young mistress was quite distressed at its predicament and brought it away at once to have its fur examined for possible nargles.
[[Sorry I missed your IM. I'll try to catch you tomorrow, but in the meantime I'll give you the rundown. Izumi's sick, and she's traveling back to Hogwarts to try and recuperate. I thought Bob could catch her and question her on what's going on. It'd start the ball rolling on them finding out their similar pasts.]]
