So, something was posted to the GSA listserve the other day. Basically, the owner of Jason's Deli in collegetown called someone a faggot and told him to "use some KY next time." Someone who was there posted the incident, saying he hoped we wouldn't shop there anymore. And personally, I plan to avoid them, and encourage all of you to do the same

Yes. I think the original poster was going to buy a gallon of milk but decided not to after hearing the owner's comments.

The ISO is silly and offensive. Offensive because the Cornell branch is a bunch of bougoisie white Christians and silly because they think that all real Socialism is Marxism, even though Marxism is a bunch of hooey.

Where do you stand on the socialist vs. libertarian debate, then? Personally, I don't think true socialism is a bad thing - it's not been implemented well in the past, but anything which supports the rights of all the people and equality between everyone seems alright.

I'm definitely more favorably inclined toward the socialists than the libertarians. Libertarians are. . . every problem can be reduced to "The problem is the government intruding on people's lives!" They're kind of one-trick ponies.

Yeah, me too - I can see where they're coming from, but while I think there are some instances in which the government goes too far, on the whole I don't think it's a completely bad thing.
