August challenge(s)

Aug 02, 2004 12:19

I'm feeling self-indulgent - here are a few plot bunnies or challenges or, well, basically me begging for more fic I'd love to read. If anything here inspires you to write a fic, let me know and drop a link in the comments or by e-mail so I can come and squee. Take all of August (or longer if you like) because it's my birthday month ( Read more... )

Buffy (or the Heyerverse might be interesting. . .)

coughI'm still holding out for someone writing a Buffybot/Gru fic. All I've got is it would have to be AU and my brain hasn't solved the why, but I do have the line "you are not my princess."cough

Or something involving Giles, Anya, (coughGiles/Anyacough), Willow up till "something blue", Spike up till chip, Dru, S2 Angelus, Classic Cordy, Faith, post Tabula Rasa Tara, smatterings of Buffy or Xander. Ooh, Snyder or the Mayor. I meant to beg for something for Buffy, based on the random shufflings of the Buffy top trumps game, because my mind works that way. But didn't.

Or Heyerverse, I've read practically all the historical novels, prefer the Regency ones, so if you want to do something period (or period AU Buffy would be fun!)

And now I feel like a total greedyguts.

speaking of Regency--have you read Patricia C. Wrede's magical Regency novels?

No, I hadn't heard of her until your metnion the other day. She's gone down on the list of authors to look out for though (I have no idea, is she an American writer - that might make a difference in getting hold of her books.)

Jake 2.0 fic - I'd prefer Jake/Diane, gen - action, Warner/DuMont eeevilness, but any fic is obviously a good thing.

Since Word seems a bit more stable than usual lately, I've taken to poking the Suburban Affair with a sharp stick this week-end, and may be able to oblige you soon. I've the first 4000 words or so, but only half that is in readable shape thus far. As soon as I get the first chunk fleshed out, I may for betating post it serially in my LJ before the rewrite and the polish and the like..

But if you'd like a sneak peek, that I can furnish via email :)

E-mail or reading it via lj sounds very, very cool. Whichever suits you - I'm less slow than I was in getting to e-mails and friend list writing at the mo.
