Kanda was not going to be happy with him.

Allen was practically at a sprint down one of the Asian branch corridors on his way to the room where the Ark was stationed, Gate 12 already at the ready. He had been in there earlier to open said gate, but had gone off to brief with Komui and talk to him about a few things. Mainly, Komui had held him back for a few minutes, asking about the Fourteenth. Allen had smiled and reassured Komui he was tackling the problem and due to his recent strength - thanks to an entity unnamed - he was feeling more confident that the Fourteenth wasn't going to take his body any time soon. Komui had been relieved.

And then kept Allen fifteen minutes over the end of the mission briefing to talk about how they had to be careful despite that he had already said to both Allen and Kanda (when the samurai had been there) the way to remain careful. Not that Kanda listened anyway, but hey, Komui did what he thought was best ( ... )

Dammit, that brat--

Kanda turned to glare at the other exorcist. He was a full three minutes late. The vein pulsed in his temple as he watched the other skid to a halt fifteen goddamn feet away. That pissed him off. There was no way he was going to cross all of that fifteen feet just for the sake of whacking the bastard for his inability to be on time. As much as he'd love to do just that ( ... )

Allen was used to Kanda making small annoyed noises instead of making conversation, especially when the samurai was pissed off. Sometimes for no good reason, but Allen would like to keep his head rather than voice than thought aloud ( ... )

The Level Two Akuma felt so close to reaching Level Three, it did not know how long it would take, but it didn't matter much; seeing as how the dark skinned children of the area ran around willy nilly without so much as an older companion. All the Akuma had to do was sit in one place, waiting for one or two of the little brats to wander aimlessly by ( ... )

Allen was broken from his thoughts as he saw a file shoved in his face, obscuring his sight of the city. Sure, it hadn't been the same city he had been with Nalei, but there were was similarities and it still brought back memories. They were banished once Allen took the file, noting Kanda's grumpy face. Sure, Allen hadn't been paying attention, but Kanda could at least look as if he were somewhat content and not always so annoyed ( ... )
