I hope you don't plan on eating fallen lemon cakes off the ground.

Oh, no, I certainly don't. I didn't eat any of the cakes that fell from the sky yesterday, actually. It was tempting, but not tempting enough to risk whatever consequences might've come of it.

...well then you can be cross with me.

Why would I be cross with you? Did you eat them, yourself?

I didn't notice if there were any lemon cakes yesterday, but it is curious that you'd mention lemon cakes, given how much Adrastus is fond of them.

That was rather what I was thinking of, yes. That bad thing we were all expecting still hasn't seemed to arrive, and then yesterday it rained cake--and that's what he likes best, isn't it?

I think I see the pattern you've seen, now that you put it together like that.

And when you consider that it's been just about a year now since the day his mother came here...well, it all rather adds up, and not in a way I'd like it to.

I saw carrot cake, fruitcake, chocolate, white, marble, red velvet, something green... pretty much everything except for lemon cake. Did you want to stock up on lemon cake for that one--who was it? The thing you said came to the City a while ago?

Adrastus, yes. And I think saving up some lemon cake might be a rather wise idea in the coming days, even if none of it fell from the sky.

It was just this time last year that the hair monster attacked. It'll be a year this month, if my count is correct.

It's weird, but I hardly even remember all of that. That was my first weekend here that that happened, I think, and there was so much to take in that the hair everywhere just seemed... normal? Not normal, but not more unusual than everything else.

Your first weekend here? Goodness, then you must be coming up on your anniversary soon, aren't you?

[OOC: Before I forget (again), is it cool with you to assume that Rudy's been sleeping in the Welcome Center the past few days? He's still homeless at the moment. :( ]

Or maybe it's bloody rain, and it's just pouring.

Blood! It's not really raining blood out now, is it?

No, it's - it's just a word.

Oh. Well, goodness, what a relief to hear that.

Miss Rosella, it is a pleasure to hear from you again.

This rain does seem more preferable and natural as compared to the previous one. I believe I don't much mind it. Rain is frequent in England, and I should say I am... perhaps not fond of, but rather used to it.

Oh, hello, Riff! It's very nice to hear from you, too. And how are you today, may I ask?

It's a bit strange to see rain like this around here, I must say. With summer on the way, there's always the chance it might turn to snow, or something equally ridiculous.

I am doing well, thank you, miss.

[a soft laugh]

I should hope it's only something as ridiculous as snow and not quite so odd as cakes or--as Lord Cain suggested--ovens. I imagine that would be dreadful.

I ought to warn you, Riff, one of these days I intend to convince you to simply call me Rosella.

[And she's clearly amused by the thought, too.]

Oh, yes, raining ovens would be rather a mess, wouldn't it? I've heard it once rained cats and dogs before--real cats and real dogs, that is--but that was long before I ever came here, I think. I certainly don't remember it, myself.
