Bloody- if there's one thing I try to avoid, it's reading the fuckin' paper, mates, because I tell you what- if there's anything that'll get me brassed off more than I can stand it, it's the paper. Mum, bless her soul, decided to send me the latest Herald from back home and, because I'm a good lad, I gave the damned thing a chance. Had to bust a ( Read more... )

Oh fair enough, fair enough. I've no place in saying that the thing is entirely useless- far from it! Just happens to be... Well, call me a bleeding heart if you want, too much bad news drives me into a corner.

Personally, I'm of the school to go out, do, hear and see, mate. Can't be everywhere at once, true, but I find you learn just as much that way.

Seems you yourself have a pretty firmly grounded opinion on the subject. Mind my asking why that is? Or are you just the type who likes a good read with his morning cuppa?

Ahh... Sorry to hear that. Name's John Paul Key, aye-? I know what you mean by that sort of loss... The simple act of dipping a brush in pigments and letting it go. Can't do it anymore...And oh, do I miss it.

But enough of me! Surely a man's got enough time to enjoy a coupla things to make his day more fulfilling. What is it that you do that keeps you so busy? Call it Kiwi curiosity~

John! Long time no talk!

You find that the news is always a downer. Nothing but earthquakes and economic downturns this year, it seems!

DEWI! OIII~! Where've ya been, you blighter! HA! Ah, no matter- it has been yonks since last we had a good yakkin' hasn't it? Well! We'll have to change that, certainly.

As for the news, ch...It'll likely be that way for the next couple of 'em, I'm sure. But what can you do besides live how you want while you can?

The job didn't go as well as I had hope, you know? I'd invite you to tea, but I'm afraid it's not my place unless we meet at one of those cafes on the corner.

Very wise advice, indeed. I didn't realize how much I missed Liberty until I left.

Bit skint then, huh? Damn...Well, if you're looking for some employment, I'll see if I can ring up a few folks and see if they've got anything open.

Tea? Why, you're welcome at my flat anytime.

Do you have a place? Don't want a rellie of mine out and about without a base he can come back to at the end of the day...

A lot of places aren't as well off as people think, but that comment on the economy seems a bit too much.

And a radio show? What on?

Hahaha, unfortunately...that is very true. Ignorance is bliss appears to be the zeitgeist of our era, you know?

And the show is ah... what is it? That national something-something radio that's on in America. NP-? NPR, I think.

Interested?

Well, I think that rings true for every other era. But haha! I suppose.

And, hm. It sounds interesting. So yeah, I guess I am.

Brilliant!

I do appreciate the consideration, Miss. Name's John Paul Key, at your service~ Is there a time and a place that's good for you? Anywhere you feel relaxed and yourself, that'd be best~

Everyone's suffering these days...

So, rather than compare with standards of the past, perhaps one should compare how everyone is doing relative to each other...?

You would think... But it's human habit, really, to dwell in 'then' rather than the now.

But I digress- What's this I've been hearing about muses comin' back to ya-?

A-ah yes... I had almost given up hope of writing anything substantial ever again... But it came to me all in a burst of inspiration on a trip to the library with some very helpful items.

But I'm taking it slow. Don't want to rush the process...

That's splendid, mate~ Knew you had it in ya~! Fickle though they might be, I don't think they ever truly leave us. Just... play hard to get for a while.

Wise decision, however. Many are the fools who leap too soon. But you, why, s'been a long time coming.

I'd pry a bit more but being as I respect a fellow artisan at work, I'll refrain.

Long time no talk. I've read the newspaper as well about the world economy.... well... going to shit.... Have you read about Greece? Poor people....

How have you been lately?

Kimmy~!

Blow me down- imagine my shock and delight when I find a message from you in my inbox. Too often lately, it's full of blokes from work needing this or that... It's been yonks indeed, hasn't it?

Unfortunate about the paper but- Greece, half of Europe...whole damn planet, you know?

Other than that, I think I'm alright, m'dear. Hanging in there, at the very least. Yourself?

That's really nice to hear. It really has been a while.

I'm doing pretty ok.

My roommate and I got a house, and a new pet. A Great Dane puppy. Although he doesn't really look like a little puppy anymore... He's huge.

Heh, good luck with the 'little' fellow. And a warm 'hello' to your roommate~
