Bloody- if there's one thing I try to avoid, it's reading the fuckin' paper, mates, because I tell you what- if there's anything that'll get me brassed off more than I can stand it, it's the paper. Mum, bless her soul, decided to send me the latest Herald from back home and, because I'm a good lad, I gave the damned thing a chance. Had to bust a ( Read more... )

Everyone's suffering these days...

So, rather than compare with standards of the past, perhaps one should compare how everyone is doing relative to each other...?

You would think... But it's human habit, really, to dwell in 'then' rather than the now.

But I digress- What's this I've been hearing about muses comin' back to ya-?

A-ah yes... I had almost given up hope of writing anything substantial ever again... But it came to me all in a burst of inspiration on a trip to the library with some very helpful items.

But I'm taking it slow. Don't want to rush the process...

That's splendid, mate~ Knew you had it in ya~! Fickle though they might be, I don't think they ever truly leave us. Just... play hard to get for a while.

Wise decision, however. Many are the fools who leap too soon. But you, why, s'been a long time coming.

I'd pry a bit more but being as I respect a fellow artisan at work, I'll refrain.

It's been about seven months since...well. I suppose it doesn't matter now, since I'm slowly making up for the pages lost...

Oh. Yes... Yes, technology tends to... do that.

You're an honest, hard working bloke. I'm sure the numbers'll wrack up soon enough~ If you ever need anything whilst on the clock- a good cuppa, what have you- I'm naught but a call away.

Best wishes, Arthur.

There ya have it- It does, in fact, take an ass to assume and if anyone's fitting that bill, it'll be me. My apologies, eh? That simply seems to be the culprit for loss of work recently so I... Well, no matter.

Er, don't mind this stuffed n' spinner of a Kiwi.

No, no. I'm sure it's perfectly reasonable to assume that technology had a hand in my loss - as many if not most authors these days seem to use computers while writing...

I just suppose I like the old way of doing things...

Fair enough!

Know what y'mean by that, though. More often than not, a newer model camera might give me a higher resolution photograph but there's just something about an old Leika that...Hmm...

As odd as it sounds I feel more...authentic as a writer when I use ink and paper.

The clacking of the computer keys just isn't the same...

Not odd at all, bugalug. Sometimes nostalgia stirs the creative juices more than any flashy modern devices can.

Of course, don't know if I can say that for cooking but...
