wrath of the lich king is slated for street release on november 13, 2008. we'll see how that goes. blizzard has never had an issue in the past with delaying release dates if they feel they're on shaky ground; then again, the burning crusade taught them a lot about rolling out new content, and they didn't have to install all the crazy new things ( Read more... )

Not being involved with the beta at all, all of my info is second hand, but it does sounds like they took all of the, "Whoops, whish we'd known that before launch day" issues of BC and are trying to handle them in WotLK.

I'm personally going to go down to Gamestop on Wednesday and put half the money down to reserve myself a copy.

the beta is buggy in small ways. but all of the major environmental stuff, like flying creatures, dungeon layouts, etc. was indeed tackled in the BC and they just had to take that basic structure and make it all snowglobe-like.

the major issue with the beta: whenever something new is introduced, like a patch, the server(s) crash every 5-15 minutes for a day or two. it's so frustrating, i don't really play the beta, b/c they patch it all the time. i have no idea how the raid test guilds stay sane.

let's just hope server stability will hold when a bazillion ppl roll their shiny new death knight.
